I Use Artificial Grass as Base Surface for Trampoline in my Backyard

When artificial grass was invented, playgrounds and many other environments suddenly became easier to set up.

Just have a large area covered with artificial grass and add a few toys to have a wonderful playground for kids, and also for adult like me!

I have chosen the Artificial Grass as the base surface for trampoline in my backyard after considering both Pros and Cons of the artificial grass.

While kids will have the time of their lives in an inflatable castle, adults are using larger versions of children’s playground toys more for exercise than for fun.

A great example is the trampoline, which was invented as a piece of equipment for gymnastics but ended up falling into every kid’s grace, becoming one of the best toys you can have at their parties.

Beside, it is also a great playground for pets.

My cats like the artificial grass and trampoline.

And this playground is a nice place for them to chill around in the evening.

Nowadays, trampolines have a wide range of formats, kinds, and colors, but they are still used for the same thing, to bounce up and down.

Whether for fun or for exercising, a trampoline is definitely a solid choice.

If you live in an apartment, I strongly recommend you get yourself one of the smaller ones that are almost exclusively used for exercising.

However, if you have a nice yard, a bigger one should even enhance the exercising experience and bring it to an outdoor area where you can also enjoy some contact with nature.

As shown in the image below, I put my bigger size trampoline on artificial grass in my backyard.

Sometimes I wonder can I put a trampoline on a natural grass yard and not worry about the outcome?

The combination of trampoline and grass is a desirable one.

Some may think that a trampoline set on top of artificial grass might cause serious damage to the grass, but they couldn’t be more wrong.

That is actually the number one choice, due to its softer nature and longer durability.

As we know, natural grass requires more care and so does the soil on which it is planted.

Also the natural grass might start to look messy if you do not maintain it regularly as shown in the image below:

Artificial grass, on the other hand, is a great option for playgrounds due to its durability, longevity, and also for being easier to tend to and even clean.

When I began installing trampolines on top of grass I quickly realised it could get better.

Mostly due to the nets that surround the trampoline and cost dearly to be replaced.

Apart from that, the risk of falling from the trampoline and hurting themselves led users to consider lowering the device.

As you can see from my trampoline setup, there is a small trampoline ladder for kids, and me to climb into the trampoline.

The ladder is also quite handy for me to climb out after the trampoline exercise.

That is where sunken trampolines came along and drastically reduced the risks of injury to both adult like me and children.

The main concern with the artificial grass surrounding the trampoline is the proper installation.

That is because artificial grass if not properly installed, can constitute serious trip hazards in the joints.

So, if you’re wondering if you should get your trampoline installed on artificial grass, go for it!

Just make sure the joints are leveled so there will be no trip hazard.

I even decorated this area with some solar powered LED lights as shown in the image below:

Besides, I put some solar powered mushroom shape LED lights under my trampoline.

Conclusion

Nowadays, stores offer sunken trampolines with artificial grass covers that can slide out to reveal the device.

They will still be a bit more expensive than the common ones but will look amazing in your yard.
